What does a food for the poor charity actually do?
As a food charity, HBSMWA provides monthly ration packs, hot cooked meals, grocery support for widows and orphans, and emergency food kits to families in Pakistan who cannot afford enough to eat. 100% of your donation goes to feeding the poor.
How can I make food bank donations to Pakistan?
You can fund our food programme online from £25 a month or with a one-off gift. Your donation buys and distributes staple foods — rice, flour, cooking oil, sugar and dry milk — directly to hungry families, much like a food bank.
Do you provide emergency food assistance?
Yes. We deploy emergency food kits to families affected by floods, disasters, and sudden hardship, delivering rapid food aid where the need is most urgent.

A £200 gift sponsors a full distribution event feeding 60–70 people, while £25 a month supports the ongoing Food Fund so families have food all year round. Even a small donation provides meals.
Can I give my Zakat to feed the poor?
Yes. Feeding the poor is one of the most clearly Zakat-eligible causes. Your Zakat, Sadaqah, or general donation can all be directed to our food programme.
