Why Karachi needs trees
- Heat. Karachi's summers can be dangerous, and tree cover is one of the most effective natural defences against extreme heat.
- Air. Traffic and industry load the air with pollution; trees help filter it.
- Water and floods. Green spaces absorb rain that would otherwise overwhelm drains during the monsoon.
Where we plant
Our plantation work is tied to the neighbourhoods and institutions we already support, so there are hands on the ground to water and protect each tree as it grows — including near our community and orphanage projects such as the Mango Pir orphanage.
Rooted in our community work
A tree planted beside a school or orphanage is looked after by the people who benefit from it — which is why trees cared for by a community survive far better than trees left unattended. Our plantation drive is deliberately linked to this existing community so the trees are nurtured, not forgotten.
How the drive works
You sponsor one or more saplings; we plant and care for them on the ground in and around Karachi; and you can follow your tree in our live grove, watching it move from a pledged sapling to a confirmed, growing tree.
How you can join
You do not need to live in Karachi, or even in Pakistan, to take part. From ₨800 (about £3) you can sponsor a tree, dedicate it to a loved one, and be part of greening the city.
