The most important question any donor can ask before giving to a Gaza charity is: “How do I know my money actually reaches families?” It is a completely legitimate concern. The aid sector has seen enough failures and fraud that healthy scepticism is not just reasonable — it is responsible.
At HBSMWA, we welcome this question. Here is a complete, honest account of how your Gaza donation moves from your screen to a family's hands.
What We Cannot Guarantee
Transparency means being honest about limitations too. We cannot guarantee:
- That conditions in Gaza will not deteriorate in ways that affect distribution timing.
- That every single family on a beneficiary list will be reached if access is cut off after distribution begins.
- That our partners' local conditions (staff safety, movement restrictions) won't cause delays.
If for any reason we cannot complete a distribution as planned, we will contact donors directly and offer either a refund or reallocation to another Gaza programme or our Pakistan operations. We will never silently pocket unspent donations.
How Is HBSMWA Different from Large Charities?
Large charities (Islamic Relief, Human Appeal, etc.) have significant infrastructure costs, large teams, and high brand overhead. This is not a criticism — their scale allows them to operate at a level HBSMWA cannot match. But their size also means your donation funds a large machine, not just the cause.
HBSMWA is small and lean. Our overhead is minimal because we are a grassroots Pakistani NGO. This means more of your pound reaches Gaza — and it means you can call us, email us, and get a direct answer from a real person, not a call centre.
You have seen exactly how it works. Now put it into action.
